Rekkhert

My entry for Monstartists' mascot contest. This is Rekkhert. He's based off a character I saw in a dream recently.
A little about him:

Rekkhert is, first and foremost, an explorer. He is constantly on the move, and is always looking for new places, things, and people. He gets around mostly by bounding across the terrain (hence the really long hind legs), and he's extremely quick. He cannot climb, but he can jump up to most high places.

All of his fur is white; all of his feathers are multicolored. His tail is actually white fur with a thin layer of downy feathers overtop.

Rekkhert does not really have "friends," as he's not very social, and prefers to travel alone. As far as he knows, he's the only one of his kind. He usually comes off as rather gruff, but he has a tender spot for children of all species, and anyone who shares his love of adventure. He is extremely loyal to his allies.

Oh, and don't call him a dog. Ever. He hates that.

This was an interesting project, mostly because I had to sketch him out forever to try and get the picture I had in my head. xD BUT, on the other hand, I got to draw colorful feathers.

_{Hush, it's perfectly normal to like colorful feathers that much. I hope.}

ANYway. After finishing the initial, colored drawing, I sketched some of his expressions around the edges to help convey some of his character, and to get an idea of it myself. All in all, I think this turned out pretty well.
