The Face of the Voice - Sketch

My take on Erik's deformity. We'd touched on skulls in art class the day I drew this; I couldn't resist. I wanted to stay true to Leroux's original description, and make him as "dead-looking" as possible. I also like the twisted lip Kay's Erik has, so I guess that's there too.

His teeth aren't actually exposed; his skin is just stretched so tightly that you can see them.

I think Leroux was right - it really is "a magnificent death's head." It's just an awfully poor substitute for a regular human face.
